This muzzle brake is designed for AAC (Advanced Armament) Blackout style use, which is meant to help reduce felt recoil and muzzle rise on a compatible rifle. A muzzle brake redirects propellant gases to help tame the rifle's movement, making follow-up shots faster and shooting more comfortable. Be sure to verify thread pitch and barrel compatibility before installing, and note that brakes increase muzzle blast felt by shooters nearby.
