Shipping & Delivery


We ship nationwide via UPS and FedEx through our supplier network. Most orders ship within 1–2 business days of payment clearing.

Shipping rates

Shipping is calculated at checkout based on weight, item type, and destination. We pass through carrier rates with a small handling fee — we don't profit from shipping. The contiguous 48 states ship at the standard rates below.

Rates shown are starting prices. Heavier or oversize items will be charged in 30-lb increments. Final shipping is calculated at checkout.

Delivery timeframes

  • Ground Economy: 5–7 business days
  • Ground Premium: 3–5 business days
  • Second-Day Air: 2 business days
  • Next Day Air: 1 business day (where available)

Delivery times are estimates from the carrier and don't include order processing (typically 1 business day) or weather/holiday delays. Tracking information is emailed once your order ships.

Hazmat & ammunition

Smokeless powder, primers, and certain pyrotechnics are classified as hazardous materials and incur an additional $23.99 per 50 lbs hazmat shipping surcharge required by the carrier. This is added at checkout where applicable. Factory-loaded ammunition (ORM-D) does not trigger the hazmat surcharge.

Firearms shipping

All firearms ship to a federally licensed dealer (FFL) of your choice, never to a residential address. See our FFL & Compliance page for the full transfer process. Adult signature is required on delivery. The receiving FFL will contact you when your firearm arrives.

Per ATF rules, handguns and long guns must ship on separate orders. If you order both in one transaction, we'll split shipment and send tracking for each separately.

Alaska, Hawaii & territories

Orders to Alaska, Hawaii, US territories, APO/FPO/DPO, and military addresses incur additional carrier surcharges. We'll email you with the adjusted shipping cost for confirmation before charging the order. PO boxes are not supported by all carriers — please provide a physical address whenever possible.

Address accuracy

Please double-check the shipping address before placing your order. Address corrections or package intercepts after shipment incur a $20 per-parcel fee from the carrier, which we have to pass through. We don't make money on this — it's the actual carrier fee.

Lost or damaged packages

If your package is lost, stolen, or arrives damaged, contact us at support@dawson-defense.com within 5 business days of the expected delivery date. Insurance is optional and selected at checkout — without insurance, we're unable to file claims for loss or damage.
