Bond Arms builds the modern derringer the way it should be built, out of stainless steel with interchangeable barrels and a rebounding hammer with a crossbolt safety. This America 250th commemorative wears a 4.25-inch barrel set in .45-70 Government, which is a genuinely audacious chambering for a pocket-size handgun and exactly the kind of thing Bond's Redneck series is known for. Recoil is emphatically present, and that is the point. Beyond the novelty, the build quality is real: tight lockup, precise machining and a finish that holds up to holster wear.
