Bergara made its name on barrels before it made rifles, and the Premier series is where that pedigree shows most plainly. This Platinum Stalker is chambered in .308 Winchester with a 20-inch barrel, a silver laminate stock and a Bergara Premier action running dual cocking cams, a coned bolt nose and a Cerakoted bolt body. The 20-inch barrel is a deliberate choice: the .308 gives up very little velocity there, and the rifle gains handling and balance in return.

Laminate stocks resist warping through wet weather better than walnut, which is why serious hunters keep choosing them.
