Rossi's R95 is a modern production lever action on the classic Model 92 pattern, and chambering it in .454 Casull turns a handy carbine into something with serious authority. The .454 out of a 16.5-inch barrel gains substantial velocity over a revolver, putting it firmly in big-bear and large-hog territory while remaining a compact, fast-handling gun in thick country. It will also fire .45 Colt for practice and lighter work. The Triple Black treatment gives it a blacked-out finish over the wood-and-steel configuration. Lever guns remain popular for exactly this reason: quick, natural to point, and legal nearly everywhere.
