The Charles Daly 601 Field is a straightforward 20-gauge field shotgun with a 26-inch barrel, black synthetic furniture, and a 3-inch chamber. Charles Daly is one of the older names in the American shotgun trade, and the modern line focuses on delivering well-built working guns for hunters who want function over ornamentation.

The 26-inch barrel is the length upland hunters tend to prefer, quick to the shoulder in thick cover and light enough to carry through a long day of walking. Twenty gauge keeps recoil friendly across a full box of shells while still patterning well on quail, dove, and pheasant, and the synthetic stock shrugs off rain, brush, and the back of a truck.
