Chiappa builds this 1911 in Italy, and the Superior is the dressed-up version of the platform in .45 ACP with a 5-inch barrel and a two-tone gold and black finish. The 1911 needs little introduction: John Browning's single-action design has been in continuous service and production for over a century, and the short, crisp trigger and low bore axis are why competitive shooters still choose it.

The .45 ACP remains a mild-recoiling, effective defensive cartridge out of a full-size steel frame, and the full-length barrel gives the platform its classic balance.
