The Chiappa LA Bootleg Takedown compresses lever-action heritage into a compact .22 LR that breaks down for transport in a pack or truck bag. Chiappa has carved out a niche building characterful rimfire lever guns, and the Bootleg's short 12-inch barrel and takedown design make it a natural trail and camp companion — quick to assemble, endlessly fun to run, and cheap to feed. The lever action itself is part of the appeal: every shot engages you in a way that no semi-auto quite matches.
