Chiappa's 1873-22 is a faithfully scaled single-action revolver in rimfire — the Peacemaker silhouette, the loading gate and ejector rod, the whole cowboy manual of arms, at .22 prices. This Target model wears a 7.5-inch cavalry-length barrel with adjustable sights and a 10-round cylinder, and it is chambered for .22 LR. Single-action revolvers are wonderful teaching guns: the deliberate load-one-at-a-time rhythm slows a new shooter down and forces attention on sight picture and trigger press. It is also just a pleasure to shoot at cans on a Saturday.
