This is a factory Colt magazine for the 1911 Government model, chambered in .45 ACP with a 7-round capacity and a blued finish. In a 1911, the magazine is the single most common source of malfunctions, which is why experienced shooters treat quality magazines as non-negotiable and replace them before they cause problems.

The 7-round capacity is the original Government configuration, and it is what the gun was designed around. Buying spares for range sessions, training classes, or carry rotation is one of the cheapest reliability upgrades available for a 1911.
