Crimson Trace's Laserguard replaces the trigger guard area of a subcompact pistol with a laser unit that adds almost nothing to the gun's carry profile, which is the whole reason the design exists. This model fits the Smith and Wesson M&P Bodyguard .380 and projects a green beam, which the human eye perceives as considerably brighter than red in daylight.

Activation is instinctive, coming on as the hand takes a normal firing grip rather than requiring a separate switch. On a pocket .380 with small sights, a laser meaningfully improves practical accuracy under stress.
