The Carbon Rival XP 2.0 is the featherweight in Fierce Firearms' Rival family, wrapping a match-grade stainless barrel in carbon fiber to shave weight without giving up stiffness or accuracy. This one is chambered in 7mm PRC with a 22-inch barrel, a combination that gives up a little velocity to the longer guns but produces a rifle you will happily carry through timber and up scree fields. The Black Forest stock finish is understated and hard-wearing, and the Rival action cycles smoothly from a bipod or off the shoulder. For a backcountry hunter chasing elk and mule deer at distance, it packs a long-range cartridge into a mountain-rifle weight.
