The Crickett has introduced more young shooters to the shooting sports than almost any other rifle in America. Keystone Sporting Arms built it as a scaled-down single-shot bolt action in .22 LR, with a short stock, light weight, and a manually cocked striker that forces a deliberate, safety-conscious loading routine every single time. This example pairs a stainless 16.12-inch barrel with a colored laminate stock, giving it corrosion resistance and a little personality for a first rifle.

Single-shot operation keeps range sessions slow and supervised, which is exactly the point for a first .22. Fitted with peep-style open sights and drilled for a small scope, it stays simple to shoot and simple to teach with.
