The Keystone Crickett is the rifle that has introduced more American kids to shooting than any other, a single-shot bolt-action .22 LR scaled properly for small shooters rather than an adult rifle with a shortened stock. Single shot is the point: it forces deliberate loading, aiming and firing, which is exactly the habit you want to build first. The manual cocking piece adds another layer of positive control, and the 16-inch barrel keeps the whole rifle light enough for a child to hold steady. This one wears a blue synthetic stock with gold webbing over a blued barrel.
