Kimber's Ultra II is the shortest of the company's 1911s, an aluminum-framed, 3-inch-barreled carry gun that shrinks the platform about as far as the design tolerates while remaining reliable. Chambered in 9mm Luger, it is notably pleasant to shoot for its size, and the alloy frame keeps carry weight down substantially compared to a steel gun. The Sapphire treatment is Kimber's showpiece finish, a striking blue PVD applied to the slide with matched blue G10 grips. Kimber fits its own match barrel and bushing, and the gun carries night sights and an ambidextrous thumb safety.
