Kel-Tec has always built rifles that do not look like anyone else's, and the SU-16 is a lightweight, gas-piston .223 Remington carbine that folds in half for storage while still functioning as a truck gun or pack rifle. This CA-compliant version has a 16-inch barrel in black and is configured to meet California requirements. The SU-16 is remarkably light, accepts standard AR-pattern magazines, and the integrated bipod built into the forend is a genuinely clever touch. It has found its niche as a survival and utility rifle that stows into remarkably little space.
