The Mossberg Patriot is a bolt-action hunting rifle chambered in .400 Legend, a straight-wall cartridge developed for use in states that require straight-wall rifle cartridges for deer hunting. The 20-inch barrel, blued finish and wood-styled stock give it a traditional look. The Patriot line is known for offering good value, a crisp user-adjustable trigger and an easy-to-use action. The .400 Legend delivers a heavier bullet with moderate recoil and good energy at typical whitetail ranges, which makes this rifle a practical choice for hunters in straight-wall regions.
