The Mossberg Patriot in 6.5 PRC, with a blued 24-inch threaded barrel and walnut stock. Mossberg built the Patriot as a working hunter's bolt action: a spiral-fluted bolt, user-adjustable LBA trigger, detachable box magazine and a button-rifled free-floated barrel, sold at a price that leaves budget for glass.

The 6.5 PRC is the magnum answer to the Creedmoor, driving the same high-BC 6.5mm bullets several hundred feet per second faster for hunters who want the caliber's ballistic efficiency with more authority on elk-sized game at distance. The threaded muzzle accepts a brake or suppressor.
