North American Arms mini revolvers are unlike anything else, and The Earl is the most characterful of the lineup. It mimics the look of an 1860s percussion revolver, complete with a dummy loading lever running under the 4-inch octagonal barrel, but it is a modern stainless steel .22 WMR single action holding five rounds. The .22 Magnum makes far better use of a short barrel than .22 LR does, giving meaningfully more velocity and energy.

These are pocket guns in the truest sense, small enough to disappear anywhere, though the longer barrel and sights on The Earl make it genuinely shootable rather than a novelty.
