The Savage 110 Lightweight Storm is exactly what the name promises — a stainless, synthetic-stocked 110 trimmed down for hunters who cover ground. The 20-inch barrel and lighter contour cut carry weight noticeably, and the stainless barreled action shrugs off wet weather the way blued steel never will.

Chambered in .243 Winchester, it's one of the friendliest big-game rifles you can hand someone: light recoil, flat trajectory, and enough performance for deer and antelope while doubling as a serious varmint and coyote rifle. The user-adjustable AccuTrigger, floating bolt head, AccuFit stock with interchangeable comb and length-of-pull inserts, and detachable box magazine all carry over from the full-size 110. A genuinely good pick for a younger or smaller-framed hunter who will still be shooting it in twenty years.
