A .270 Winchester on a carbon-wrapped Proof Research barrel is a very appealing mountain rifle, and that is what the 110 Ultralite Pro Western delivers here with a 20-inch tube. The .270 has been the go-to Western deer and elk cartridge since the 1920s because it shoots flat, kills cleanly, and does it with recoil most shooters can handle well enough to place shots. Trimming barrel weight matters more than almost anything else when you are carrying a rifle uphill. Savage's AccuFit stock hardware and user-adjustable AccuTrigger let you tune fit and trigger pull to your own preferences.
