Savage's Axis II XP is the definitive first serious deer rifle: a button-rifled barrel, the user-adjustable AccuTrigger and a factory-mounted 3-9x40 scope, all for a fraction of what a custom build costs. This one is chambered in .270 Winchester with a 22-inch barrel and an FDE synthetic stock. The .270 has been a benchmark all-round hunting cartridge since the 1920s, flat enough for open country, mild enough to shoot well and more than adequate for deer, antelope and black bear.

Bore-sight it, confirm zero at the range and it is ready for opening day.
