Savage has spent years proving that accuracy does not require a premium price tag, and the Axis line is the clearest expression of that. The Axis II builds on the original with the user-adjustable AccuTrigger, which lets shooters tune pull weight down to a crisp break without gunsmithing, plus a button-rifled barrel and Savage's floating bolt head that helps square the cartridge to the bore.

This 22-inch-barreled 6.5 Creedmoor wears a flat dark earth synthetic stock over a blued action. It is a straightforward, honest deer and target rifle.
