The Savage Arms Axis 2 Compact is a left-handed bolt-action rifle chambered in .223 Remington with a 20-inch barrel and a black and flat dark earth finish. Savage built the Axis line to give hunters and new shooters an accurate, affordable rifle, and the Axis 2 carries the brand's adjustable AccuTrigger and a detachable box magazine. The compact stock suits younger shooters and smaller frames, and the left-hand action is a real find for southpaws who are usually stuck with right-handed rifles. It is well suited to predator and varmint work, target practice, and learning the fundamentals of bolt-gun shooting.
