The Savage Arms Axis 2 Compact XP is a bolt-action rifle in .223 Remington with a 20-inch barrel and a left-handed action. It comes as a package with a mounted scope, so it is nearly ready for the field. The compact stock is aimed at younger and smaller-framed shooters, and the .223 Remington is a low-recoil round suited to varmints, predators, and training. The Axis 2 line features Savage's user-adjustable AccuTrigger, a feature that helps shooters dial in a lighter, crisper pull. It is a good first rifle for a growing hunter.
