This is the left-hand Axis II Compact in a complete package configuration, which solves two problems at once for southpaw hunters and smaller-framed shooters. True left-hand bolt actions are uncommon enough that finding one in a compact stock with a scope already mounted is a genuine convenience.

Chambered in .243 Winchester with a 20-inch barrel and a grey stock, it delivers plenty of performance on deer and antelope with recoil mild enough that shooters do not develop a flinch. Savage's user-adjustable AccuTrigger is the feature that makes these rifles punch above their class.
