Savage's Axis 2 has quietly become one of the best values in a hunting rifle, and the Pro Forest trim adds a threaded 20-inch barrel and a bronze finish to the package. Chambered in .400 Legend, it is aimed squarely at hunters in straight-wall cartridge states who want more thump and better wind performance than a .350 Legend delivers while keeping recoil civil.

The user-adjustable AccuTrigger lets you set a clean break to your preference, and the synthetic stock shrugs off wet weather. A practical, no-nonsense deer rifle that leaves budget for glass and ammunition.
