The Savage Axis 2 Pro Western dresses Savage's value-driven Axis platform for open-country hunting, and this left-hand 6.5 Creedmoor makes that package available to southpaw shooters. The 20-inch barrel keeps the rifle handy in the truck and on the mountain, while the bronze-toned finish and western-style camo stock shrug off weather. Savage's AccuTrigger gives a clean, user-adjustable pull that helps wring out the accuracy the button-rifled barrel delivers. In 6.5 Creedmoor, it is a soft-recoiling, flat-shooting rig ideally suited to deer and antelope at honest western distances.
