The Savage Axis II XP is a bolt-action hunting rifle sold as a ready-to-shoot package with a factory scope, chambered here in the flat-shooting .25-06 Remington. A 22-inch barrel and a flat dark earth synthetic stock make it a handy, weather-resistant choice for deer, antelope, and varmints. Savage's user-adjustable AccuTrigger is a signature feature of the line, letting the shooter dial in the pull weight. It is a popular pick for first-time rifle buyers and budget-minded hunters who want a capable setup without buying optics separately.
