The Savage Arms Axis XP is a budget-minded bolt-action rifle chambered in .270 Winchester with a 22-inch black barrel. The .270 Winchester is a legendary North American deer and elk cartridge, known for flat trajectory and moderate recoil, and has been a staple of hunting camps for generations. Savage's AccuTrigger lets shooters tune the trigger pull, and the Axis line has earned a reputation for dependable accuracy at a modest level. It's an ideal first big-game rifle or a practical secondary rifle for hunters who want something simple and effective.
