The B17 is Savage's bolt-action rimfire in .17 HMR, using a rotary magazine and a 10-degree bolt throw that makes it feel more like a scaled-down centerfire than a typical rimfire. The Timberlite Thumbhole version pairs an 18-inch carbon-wrapped barrel with a thumbhole stock, which cuts weight substantially while keeping the shooting hand in a consistent, vertical position.

The muzzle is threaded, which suits the .17 HMR well for pest control where noise matters, and the AccuTrigger is user-adjustable down to a genuinely light pull.
