The Savage Mark II GLY is the compact, left-handed version of the most popular bolt-action .22 LR of the last two decades, and it is built specifically for young and smaller-framed shooters who happen to be southpaws. The shorter length of pull lets them shoulder the rifle properly and learn good form from the start, while the wood stock and blued 19-inch barrel give it the feel of a real rifle rather than a toy. Savage's AccuTrigger, unusual on a rimfire at this level, lets the pull be set light and crisp, and the 10-round detachable magazine makes loading easy. It is the rifle a lot of hunters wish they had learned on, and the one they buy for their own kids.
