Taurus's TX22 has become one of the standout .22 LR pistols on the market, largely because it actually runs reliably with bulk ammunition, which is far from universal in rimfire handguns. The Gen 2 refines the trigger and ergonomics, and the TORO designation adds an optics-ready slide cut for a red dot.

The 4.6 in. barrel and full-size polymer frame give it real handgun ergonomics rather than a scaled-down feel, making it an excellent low-cost trainer, a fine plinker and a legitimate small game and pest pistol.
