TriStar has built a solid value reputation importing Turkish-made shotguns, and the Matrix is their inertia-driven semi-automatic. Inertia systems appeal to hunters because they run remarkably clean, stay light up front, and are far less fussy about maintenance across a long, wet season than gas guns.

This 20-gauge wears a 26-inch blued barrel with walnut furniture and a 3-inch chamber, and it ships with three choke tubes. The 20 gauge in a light inertia gun is a joy to carry on upland walks, and the shorter barrel points quickly in thick cover.
