Taylor's and Company offers this Remington-pattern cartridge conversion revolver in .38 Special with a 5.5-inch blued barrel and walnut grips. Conversion revolvers occupy a genuinely interesting slice of history: when metallic cartridges arrived, thousands of percussion revolvers were converted rather than scrapped, and the resulting guns bridged two eras. Reproductions like this one give you the lines and balance of the 1858 Remington with the convenience of modern .38 Special ammunition. The solid top strap of the Remington design was always its advantage over the open-top Colts. A favorite among Cowboy Action shooters and collectors of the era.
