Weatherby's Vanguard has quietly been one of the best accuracy values in hunting rifles for decades, and the company backs every one with a sub-MOA guarantee — a promise very few makers put in writing on a working hunting rifle. This Weatherguard model is chambered in .270 Winchester, the cartridge Jack O'Connor spent a career championing and still one of the finest all-around choices for deer, sheep and elk-sized game in open country. The 24-inch stainless barrel resists weather, and the two-tone Griptonite stock adds rubber panels at the grip and forend for a secure hold with cold, wet hands.
