The Weatherby Vanguard Weatherguard is a bolt-action hunting rifle chambered in .308 Winchester, offered in stainless steel for increased weather resistance. It has a 22-inch barrel and a two-tone Griptonite stock, a molded synthetic design with a tacky, non-slip texture that holds up in rain, snow, and cold. Weatherby built the Vanguard to deliver reliable accuracy for deer, elk, and other big game, and the .308 is one of the most versatile and widely available cartridges. It is a solid choice for a do-it-all hunting rifle that can handle rough conditions.
