The Weatherby Vanguard Outfitter is a bolt-action hunting rifle chambered for the .257 Weatherby Magnum, a cartridge developed by Roy Weatherby and known for high velocity and flat trajectories. The 24-inch barrel is finished in a graphite black Cerakote, a durable coating that resists rust and wear in bad weather. Weatherby's Vanguard action has a long reputation for accuracy straight from the box, and the synthetic stock keeps the rifle practical for field use. This is a rifle suited to long-range deer, antelope and similar game where speed and a flat shooting cartridge are valued.
