The Weatherby Vanguard has quietly been one of the best accuracy-per-dollar propositions in bolt-action rifles for years — every Vanguard ships with a sub-MOA guarantee backed by a test target, which is a claim most makers in its class won't put in writing. The action is a two-lug, cock-on-open design with a fully enclosed bolt sleeve and three gas ports, and it's known for being robust rather than fussy.

The Weatherguard trim adds a burnt bronze Cerakote finish over the barreled action for corrosion and abrasion resistance, on a composite stock built to take abuse. Chambered in .30-06 Springfield with a 22-inch barrel, it's an all-purpose North American hunting rifle in a finish that will still look right after a hard season.
