Wilson Combat applies the same fit and finish standards to its rifles that made its 1911s famous, and the Protector Carbine is the company's general-purpose AR-15. The 16.25-inch 5.56 barrel is match grade, the trigger is Wilson's own Tactical Trigger Unit, and the handguard is a slim free-float design that keeps the barrel untouched.

This is the California-compliant configuration. What you are paying for is the assembly work: properly torqued, correctly gassed, hand-checked components that produce a rifle which simply runs and shoots tighter groups than the sum of its parts would suggest. Black Armor-Tuff finish throughout.
