The Auto-Ordnance Thompson TAO50 is a bolt-action rifle chambered in .50 BMG, one of the most powerful cartridges available to civilian shooters. A 29-inch barrel and a flat dark earth finish give it the long-range reach and heft that big-bore enthusiasts look for, and at around 54 pounds it is built to be shot from a bench or bipod rather than carried afield.

Fifty-caliber rifles are favored for long-range precision shooting, steel-ringing at extreme distances and the sheer enjoyment of shooting a legendary cartridge. Plan on serious optics, a solid rest and plenty of range time.
