This is the Rough Rider carbine in its most classic dress: a 16-inch blued barrel, a six-round .22 LR cylinder, fixed front sight, and a handsome cocobolo grip that gives it an old-West character most rimfires cannot match. Heritage built its name on affordable single-actions that make new shooters slow down and pay attention to the fundamentals, and the carbine length only amplifies that.

The longer barrel picks up meaningful velocity over a revolver and makes iron sights far easier to shoot well. For small game, tin cans, or just teaching someone the manual of arms on a single-action, it is hard to beat.
