The Henry Long Ranger is what happens when a lever action is designed around modern bottleneck cartridges rather than the other way around. It uses a geared action with a rotating multi-lug bolt head and feeds from a detachable rotary magazine, which means pointed, high-BC spitzer bullets can be used safely, something a traditional tubular magazine will not allow. That single change extends practical lever action range dramatically.

This Deluxe version adds engraving and upgraded wood to a 20-inch blued barrel in .243 Winchester, a flat-shooting, light-recoiling deer and varmint cartridge. It is as much heirloom as hunting rifle.
