The Model 25 Lightweight Varminter was Savage's dedicated small-bore varmint platform, built on a compact action sized specifically for cartridges like the .204 Ruger rather than a shortened long action. This one carries a 24-inch blued barrel in a laminated stock with a detachable box magazine, and the extra mass of the laminate helps settle the rifle for the long, deliberate shots varmint hunting demands.

The .204 Ruger is a prairie dog and coyote specialist: extremely flat, very fast, and light on recoil, so the shooter can spot their own hits through the scope. Savage's AccuTrigger comes standard.
