The Savage Axis has sold in enormous numbers because it does the important thing right: it shoots well. This XP package model is chambered in .400 Legend with a 20-inch threaded barrel and synthetic stock, and the package configuration means it comes ready to hunt rather than requiring a separate optics purchase. The .400 Legend is a straight-wall cartridge built for hunters in states that restrict bottleneck rifle cartridges during deer season, offering a substantial step up in energy over the .350 Legend while staying compliant with those regulations.
