The Savage Axis 2 is the rifle that put accurate, dependable bolt guns in the hands of a generation of new hunters, and this version is chambered in .243 Winchester with a 20-inch threaded barrel. The .243 is arguably the ideal first centerfire: light recoil, flat trajectory, and enough bullet for deer and antelope while doubling as a superb coyote and varmint cartridge with lighter loads. The short barrel and threaded muzzle make it a natural for a suppressor, and the blued barreled action sits in a gray synthetic stock. Savage's AccuTrigger lets you set a crisp, light pull, and the detachable box magazine loads and unloads without fuss.
