This Savage Axis 2 is a left-handed rifle chambered in 7mm-08 Remington, with a 20-inch threaded barrel and a green synthetic stock over blued steel. The 7mm-08 is one of the best all-around deer cartridges ever necked down from the .308 case, delivering flat trajectories and modest recoil that make it a favorite for youth, women and anyone who values a rifle they can shoot well over one they merely tolerate. The compact barrel keeps it handy in a tree stand and welcomes a suppressor. Southpaws get the same AccuTrigger, detachable box magazine and floating bolt head that make the Axis II a reliable, accurate rifle at a weight that is easy to carry.
