Savage builds the Axis 2 Pro Woodland for hunters who spend their seasons in timber, and this left-handed version is chambered in .22-250 Remington, the classic varmint and predator cartridge. Driving 50 to 55-grain bullets at nearly 3,700 feet per second, the .22-250 is a laser out to 400 yards on coyotes, prairie dogs and groundhogs, and it is a fine choice for southpaws who spend winter calling predators in the woods. The threaded muzzle makes adding a suppressor simple, which matters when you want to call in a second dog after the first shot. Savage's AccuTrigger, a detachable box magazine and button-rifled barrel deliver the accuracy varmint hunting demands.
