The Axis 2 Pro Western in .400 Legend gives left-handed hunters access to Winchester's newest straight-wall cartridge, which delivers noticeably more energy than the .350 Legend with heavier bullets that penetrate deeper on big-bodied deer and black bear. Like its smaller sibling it is legal in straight-wall-only zones across the Midwest, and it does its work inside 200 yards with recoil that stays civil in a bolt gun of this weight. The muzzle is threaded for a suppressor, which pairs well with the cartridge's moderate velocity, and Savage's AccuTrigger and detachable magazine are standard. A true left-hand action, not a right-hand bolt with a flipped stock, makes it a proper southpaw rifle.
