The Savage Axis 2 Pro Forest SP in .400 Legend carries a 20-inch threaded barrel and the Pro line's upgraded stock and forest finish. .400 Legend is Winchester's larger follow-up to .350 Legend, developed for the same straight-wall-cartridge hunting regulations but delivering more bullet weight and energy for larger game and longer shots.

The threaded muzzle takes a suppressor, which is particularly welcome with a big straight-wall cartridge. Savage's user-adjustable AccuTrigger provides the clean break that makes the Axis line shoot well beyond expectations for a working hunting rifle.
